SAHRR Prompt #5
Well like the Mad Hatter, I'm late., for an important date (with you). I meant to post my blocks yesterday, but life took an abrupt turn, and here I am today. For me this was a difficult decision. My mind had created an image of what the outcome for this piece would be, and my efforts this week didn't match. I don't want to have a large finished piece, but would be content if it would be a throw size, or even a table topper. Also, at the onset I had decided to stretch my wings and try to include a variety of techniques as we went along. In addition to traditional piecing I hoped to include applique and paper piecing. With this prompt I was able to complete the third technique, pp. My small uneven log cabin blocks, are paper pieced at four and one half inches unfinished, and will be used in the four corners of what I believe will be my final border. I've used red centres to represent the hearth, and have attempted to make the remainder of the block resemble a flower. These corner blocks will be attached when the remainder of the border is completed. Again the scraps from my Thimbleberries have provided the bits needed to grow my cabin flowers. I have two pictures to give a visual to help.
Looking forward to seeing what everyone has done, and also for a chance to play for another week.
Stay safe and healthy
Lynn
