It's SAHRR Time Prompt #2

This week's prompt was chosen by Anja  of Anja Quilts. She has suggested HST's. They are easy to make, and can be used in a multitude of places. I was challenged to see how they would fit with my orange peels, and week #1 prompt,(Kings Crown).

My project sat on the rails of my mid arm, and looked at me for a couple of days. Needless to say I don't have a firm idea of where I'm headed with this project, and that is part of the fun. Many times I feel bound to follow a prescribed pattern, but this challenge gives free rein to my cluttered mind.

Initially, I knew that somewhere during the challenge I would want to bring some curves back into the piece, but had no notion of when or how or where. Finally the piece spoke to me, and I decided to add some applique to two of the borders  added in the first prompt. To incorporate HST's, I made HST posies, and appliqued them to the top. It has a 3 D effect. I'm not sure at the present moment whether the other two borders will get any kind of a treatment. Only the  future knows. I made lots of mistakes as I was getting this together. so Jack was my good friend(I guess). I really am happy with where I am at present.

Unfortunately I did not get the entire piece in the photo, and my helper is gone for the day.
Monday is just around the corner and we'll be off and humming again. Thanks Anja for this prompt.
