Parade Day for the 2026 SAHRR
Tomorrow over on Kathleen McMusing blog we will all post our projects created during the 2026 SAHRR. I hope everyone enjoyed the journey as much as I have. Often in life we like to know the exact path we will follow. It's safe and comfortable. But this adventure lets us go outside of that comfort zone, and express more of the adventurous side of each of us. This is my third adventure with the group. I decided to go smaller this year, not as small as some, but definitely smaller than my last year project.
2024
Seven or eight years ago I purchased a quilting book published by Landauer Publishing. This quilt book, written by Janet Houts and Jean Ann Wright, is titled, Circle of Nines. These sisters have a long history with sewing and the world of needle and thread. I liked the simple concept they presented, and decided far into this adventure that I would try the Circle of Nines design approach. It is easy, lots of room for individual expression, and the possibilities for changing the size of your quilt are broad. My quilt is small, about 27" x 27". And I added a simple label, something, in my usual haste, doesn't always get done.2026
I may add something to the label, as soon as I decide what that something is to be. I'm looking forward to visiting all of the creators as we finish up this adventure. You will find the final linky party with the parade results here at Kathleen McMusing . Just click on the blue text and your journey will begin My wish for you is to let your heart be filled with love and your hands busy with helping.
Hugs

I like your circle! Is that the first book, the one with 24 designs? I just keep staring at your quilt, it is very pretty. Your colors and the blocks, really nice job!
ReplyDeleteI like this Circle of Nines. Very outside the box. Love backing too. Mine needs a label!
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by. It's so much fun to see where our knowledge, imagination, and prompts take us
DeleteThe three quilts are very nice. The 2026 quilt is my favorite of them.
ReplyDeleteA perfectly lovely circle of nine quilt blocks, in a peaceful setting. They all stand on their own, and then together, relate to one another. Congratulations on a fine finish for SAHRR 2026!
ReplyDeleteThank you. It is always a pleasure to participate in thtis adventure, and using up my large stash of Thimbleberries scraps adds to the enjoyment.

ReplyDeleteYour SAHRRs are all beautiful and I like the way you have made each one so different. I haven't heard of this circle of nines before but your quilt looks great. I will have to investigate :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Janine. I'll bet you will find some great ideas for yourself in this concept. As I was sitting watching a presentation on arthritis tonight, I thought of another one for me.

ReplyDeleteThanks daryl. It was a fun project.

DeleteYou did wonderfull SAHRR quilts. And yes, same here… try to create a smaller SAHRR this year. So much to learn always. Never neard about the circle of nine. Have to check. The cat is my favorite block. And applaus for the label. What will we know from old quilts when there was no label on? Your project is so lovely! Have a nice spring time! Wendys eva
