SAHRR Finjish 2025

I'm just going to be under the wire. This has been another great experience for me. Sorry I'm not sharing sooner, but I have been away for a couple of weeks, house and dog sitting for a grandmother whose granddaughter was representing Canada in the Special Olympics in Italy. They had a wonderful event and Rebecca and her team brought home a gold medal. I was so happy to be able to do something that would allow her grandma to go. Now back home, and easing into normal routines here.

I have not had time to quilt the project yet, but the top is done. I've learned a lot, and ripped more than I would wish. One of my goals for this SAHRR was to use as many techniques as possible responding to the prompts. In addition to traditional piecing, I was able to include paper piecing, piecing with templates and applique. As well I used bias bars to make the vines on the top. Hadn't done that for many years I guess. All of the fabric came from my Thimbleberries leftovers. A shortage of background neutral caused me to use a different fabric for the final row, but still a leftover Thimbleberries piece.

Thank you to each of the designers for prompts that encouraged me to stretch my comfort zone, and use my thinking cap. Thanks too for help given to me during this journey. You have helped me grow

This second shot shows my sweet husband braving the elements so I can find some good light for the picture. wonderful to have willing helpers
Wishing you happiness , good health, safety, and ease of living
