#6 Final prompt SAHRR 2025

Well we have already reached the last prompt for this year's SAHRR. It's been a slice!. I started with a long almost forgotten centre piece, and today I finished what I think will be the final blocks for my project. Over these weeks, slowly the concept for what the final piece would be took shape, not always quickly, or without much resewing.

Thank you to each of the hosts for their prompts, and for their willingness to provide a play space for all of us. Special thanks from me to Kathleen from Kathleen Mc Musing for her willingness to go the extra step as I worked my way through the process. I have used this opportunity to try some new or rarely used techniques as we played. While I think I have pretty much made my final decision about assembly, there is always room to add or delete before the final stitches are completed.  This week I leave to spend a couple of weeks sitting with my cousin's dogs as she flies to Italy for the Special Olympics where her granddaughter will be one of the participants representing Canada on the slopes. What an exciting time for Rebecca and all of her team mates .We wish all of the athletes competing good friends and good fun. Only a few will receive the top medals, but everyone has the chance to befriend others and celebrate each other. I probably won't have my quilt completely finished by parade time, but the top should be whole by then.

I'm posting a picture of the bare elements of my final border. The sixth prompt has four blocks at present to be incorporated with the log cabin blocks from prompt #5. This block has movement, and my intention is to present them as flowers in addition to my log cabin flowers. One name I found for this block was buzzsaw. Another spot it is called a pinwheel. I used templates to make two of the blocks, and rotary cutting instructions for the other two. I couldn't grasp the instructions for the pp block, but I'm happy with what I have. I find the rotary cut blocks easier for me, and my accuracy was better.

This is my project at present.

The block Each of the four blocks has a different centre and background

Placement of the blocks. I don't have the background pieces cut yet

Well that's it for today. I wish everyone a week of good health and a kind environment

Lynn
