SAHRR Prompt #6
We have arrived! Anja has given us the final prompt for ourr SAHRR 2026, and it is a gift for sure. She has asked us to make any block we wish for our final block or border. After this is completed we have about one month to finish our project. I think I spent most of the evening last night thinking about the assembly. For Anja's prompt, I chose a block I'd liked but never made before. It took me hours, but the finish was worth the effort for me. The block is part of a pattern from Lucy Fazely published in "the Quilter" May, 2006. I'm not sure, but I believe the name of the pattern is Posies. For the third year, the SAHRR has encouraged me to stretch my norm, to reach out and try something a bit different. I wanted this year to make something on the smaller scale, so 6 inch blocks will be the centrepiece of my project. And this is my block from Anja's prompt.
There's only one mistake in the block, and it's a colour error, that became evident to me after I finished. So be it! The area surrounding the small centre block should have been the same fabric as the petals. I don't intend to make the change. I think I like it as is.
That's it for now. hours fly, and there is lots for mew to do. Havr a great weekend, and whenever you can, be kind
Lynn

I like that the SAHRR helped you stretch and try new things. I think the block looks great with the light print around the center, too. I look forward to seeing how all your blocks come together!
